Did I mention I have a single room and single bathroom?! Best accommodations of my life. Besides my room at home, of course.
Wow okay so yesterday was the first day of school. I couldn't stop saying "FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL" in Nemo's voice. I think it got old for my friends. They also think of me as not the trap queen, but the nap queen. Sorry I like to sleep after class ends. But I'm actually not sorry. It helps me not be tired when we go out later. Speaking of going out...two nights ago we went to a comedy club. Rather, it was a bar that hosts comedians. It was really farrrr. I got 20,000 steps that day. Pretty sure my phone's pedometer was confused though because I had switched timezones. No complaints though. Also, rocks in my shoes. Not into it. My friend Clarissa made a funny comment that I want to share. As we poured rocks out of our shoes she said, "17 rocks and counting" like the show about the family who has 20 kids and counting. I cried...but maybe you had to be there.
The comedians were funny though! Mostly because we couldn't understand half the things they said with their thick Irish accents. They made fun of us because we got there late and sat in front. Easy to be picked on when you're American. It was funny, though. One comedian talked about how some stereotypes are positive. Like Irish lads are funny, or Asians are smart. Then he said, "And Americans..." and didn't say anything more. So true.
Also I'm pretty pissed I haven't met a boy named Seamus yet. But there are quite a few Paddys, Barrys, Conors, and Darraghs on Tinder. Also Eoghan, Eoin, and Ian. Same name, different spelling. Very confusing if I do say so myself. OMG how could I forget.. I almost got run over by a horse while I was en route to the guinness factory. Would've been tragic because the Guinness was tasty. Plus that's kind of a sad way to go down.
I may or may not have had two Guinnesses (which I now call guin-eye) like if it is plural. There was a "gravity bar" on the 7th floor of the factory. Every person of age (18) gets a pint at the end of the tour. So we went to the 7th floor and enjoyed. Also the view was unreal. Here is one of my favorite pics I took- with my chalkboard of course. It has been quite fun lugging that around...
Best story of my time at the Guinness factory? So we're sitting and sipping at the gravity bar (view the picture), and all of a sudden this dank smell arises. It literally smelled like horse shit. I am a dramatic person sometimes, so I made a big deal about if it was me and if my friends smelled it too. It wasn't me (PHEW), and they smelled it as well. Awesome. So then we see this little pile of dirt that looked like it could be the culprit. We stared as people walked on it, smashed it, and even stood on it. As all of this was happening, we couldn't breathe because we were A) laughing too hard and B) the smell was making us unable to receive proper oxygen.
It gets better. The smell goes away for a bit and so do our woes. But, of course, it returns. However, this time only in short doses. All of us decided to become Sherlock Holmes. We ended up figuring out that it was one of the bartenders. He would pass us every few minutes and each time there was the smell. Also, not that I stare at 40-year-olds' asses, but he had multiple brown stains on his pants. I'm not one to point fingers, but I'm pointing my fingers at him. The beer must go right through him.
No segue to this story, but we tried to go out last night after getting free pizza from our trip advisors. Actually they used the chemistry department's money. I'm pretty sure we're rolling in the dough because we keep making huge discoveries that are published worldwide. *dusts off shoulders*
Anywho, I may have had 5 pieces. Love me some pizza hut. Afterwards, though, 2 of my friends and I ventured to see if the on-campus bar was open. We walked a million miles (so it seemed), and you guessed it, it wasn't open. WOMP. Then it misted on our way home. Thanks world. It actually rains a lot here, which I didn't expect. But hey, nothing can rain on Princess Amy's parade. The club, though, did not "Go up on a Tuesday".
Before I forget, they played Cheerleader-my song- at the convenience store today. I jammed. Of course this was after getting grilled on organic syntheses in my class. Brain still hurts.
And wow, I think I might have mentioned this fun fact in one of my posts, but I collect thimbles. You know, those collectible ones you see in souvenir stores. Everyone probably wonders why the heck they are even sold. Well, for people like me, OK? I have like 300. It's exciting because I've found so many here already. My friends want me to take shots out of them. I don't plan on it. Can't have sticky thimbles in my suitcase! Wow, that was a weird statement.
I have some more to say, but the adventures of tonight need their own post. You'll see why.
